Change in our renewal policy

From July 1st 2010 the policy for renewals will change.

Under the new policy, when you renew an item, the item will be due 21 days from the renewal date (not 21 days from the due date).

Who is in the photo?

Many people have been asking who is in the photo on the front of the five favourite books nomination form.

The woman featured in the photograph on the front of the nomination form is Mrs Carbines who was appointed as the Hawthorn Library Manager during WW2, when it was decided that she'd be "okay" until a man was available to take over.





Not only was Mrs Carbines "okay", she was an innovative forward thinker and luckily for Boroondara she stayed in the position for over 10 years and helped develop the library service into what it is today.

Library Link unavailable July 10.

Due to scheduled maintenance work, Library Link will be unavailable on Saturday July 10^th, between 4pm and 8pm, AEST .

We expect the outage time to be no more than an hour and a half, and it will occur as late as possible within the maintenance window.

Public Holiday closure

All Boroondara Libraries will be closed on Monday June 14 for the public holiday.

Need to return your books when we're closed?

Not to worry all branches have after hours returns chutes which are open whenever the libraries are closed.

All libraries resume normal hours on Tuesday 15 June.
